The public conversation phase (comments on this website) of the consultation closed on Wednesday 11 January 2012 .  A summary of the comments on this site will be report to the council’s Cabinet meeting on 26 January 2012.

You can still complete the feedback form by Wed 15 February, as the consultation report will be updated in mid February to be reported to the Full Council meeting setting the budget (Tues 28 Feb 2pm)

Updating the proposals

In January, the cabinet will review the feedback received to date and published an update of its budget proposals.  The council’s website and this ASK Bristol website will be updated.

Setting the budget

The council is due to set its budget in the full council meeting on Tuesday 28 February 2012 from 1400.  You can come along to this meeting or watch our live webcast of the meeting which will include a live online discussion and expert commentary.

    South Gloucestershire saved £55k turning a small proportion (7.5%) of their lights off for 5h/night.

    Recent research shows that criminals appreciate good lighting.

    Do I need to explain it further?

      Well that’s certainly worth doing, but which lights would be turned off in this way? And are there other energy reduction actions that could be taken to save money without having any significant effect other than improving the budget situation? e.g. reducing heating by 1 or 2 degrees in Council properties.
